RLE FutureMotiv Engineering Director

Main Purpose Of Role
To lead and develop the Engineering capability of FutureMotiv operation in RLE US. Build up a new team and customers in RLE US in a close cooperation with FutureMotiv UK and the RLE CTO.

Ensuring the quality and delivery of FutureMotiv engineering support programs, enhancing existing engineering competence, development and management of the FutureMotiv engineering team and acting as technical point for all escalated client queries and engineering focused issues.

Core Job Duties:

Key contributor to RLE wider organisational growth strategy and development

Will develop FutureMotiv’s engineering strategy and procedures
Will develop a FutureMotive customer setup and growth strategy
Understanding of the principles and applications associated with RLE’s core activities

Plan and Develop new projects and initiatives and identify emerging opportunities.

Provide technical direction and guidance for all product design covering multiple products i.e. powertrain, body system, electrical architecture etc.

Ensure the optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development and/or customer requirements.

Recruit, provide direction and be accountable for an engaged / focused senior FutureMotiv leadership team.

Identify and develop relationships, ensuring regular engagement and coordination, with key strategic partners.

Network and represent the company externally and internally to RLE Group.

Work cohesively with internal business partners: HR, Recruitment and Finance.

Experience/Qualifications:



10+ years progressive experience in senior technical/programme/development management role within the auto/rail sector essential.



10+ years senior Electrical Engineering/Electronic experience essential.

Experience of running Electrical/Electronic Engineering programs within Auto industry.

Detailed experience with low carbon powertrain systems / components
Broad experience with a wide range of automotive electrical systems
Understanding of ISO26262 and ASPICE processes
Awareness of cyber security risks and solutions
Ability to develop and optimise electrical architecture solutions to meet customer requirements
Appreciation of battery development and full vehicle design concepts

Ability to work in a global / multi-cultural environment with diverse teams

Masters/Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

Chartered Engineering Status.
