The stakes are high and real: your designs will help ensure worker health and safety, reduce worker fatigue, maintain operational excellence, and build lasting trust with both our workforce and customers. You'll need to balance multiple priorities – from immediate safety concerns to long-term scalability, from user needs to technical constraints. To succeed, you must be a strategic thinker who can navigate ambiguous problem spaces and translate complex operational requirements into elegant, practical solutions. You'll collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and safety teams, while mentoring other designers and driving design excellence across multiple workstreams. Basic qualifications Experience collaborating with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders 5+ years of practical experience in UX design with an emphasis on content discovery and/or content engagement experiences. Demonstrated interaction design and visual craft skills including experience with prototyping mobile experiences An aesthetic sense and the ability to make confident decisions Demonstrated empathy for the people using your software or products Expertise with Figma 5+ years of design experience 3+ years of delivering design solutions as a UX designer or interaction designer experience Have an available online portfolio Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar Preferred qualifications Experience working on associate-facing software experiences Executed research plans talking to real customers Knowledge of design systems Formal education in Design, Interaction/UX Design or HCI Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs Key job responsibilities Execute the design strategy for complex operational systems, considering both immediate needs and long-term scalability Define and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that can be adopted across teams Drive cross-functional alignment through effective communication of design decisions and trade-offs Identify and solve root causes of widespread operational challenges through innovative design solutions Contribute to design reviews and critiques, ensuring high-quality outcomes across multiple workstreams Partner with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility while maintaining design integrity Aggregate and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform product-level design decisions Influence product strategy and roadmap decisions through data-informed design recommendationsChampion user-centered design practices across the organization About the team Our team is crucial to Amazon's operational success, creating experiences that enable associates and managers to work efficiently and safely. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on the number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
