Senior Electrical Engineer at TSI The Senior Electrical Engineer works under minimal supervision in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for TSI’s precision instruments, including particle, gas, and flow measurement sensors and devices. This position will assume leadership on ongoing engineering projects, as well as continuation engineering efforts, ensuring successful design, testing, and manufacturing of printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) and embedded microcontroller firmware. The candidate will work with a variety of system features, including measurement and user controls, low power consumption, compact enclosures, and embedded systems. A successful candidate will bring a demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges, using standard engineering practices, to design and troubleshoot PCAs with 32-bit microcontrollers, FPGAs, and custom analog and digital circuitry. What Will You Do? Solve complex technical design and development problems, and create architecture for electrical systems, design circuits, and printed circuit assemblies Write firmware for the embedded system to control and process sensor readings Lead development of printed circuit assemblies, designing circuit to meet technical specification and ensure that the product meets electromagnetic compatibility requirements Independently design, simulate, test, and debug moderately complex to complex electrical circuits to ensure compliance with customer needs, design specifications, and quality standards Apply problem solving skills to analyze new and unfamiliar engineering problems and review potential solutions with other engineers and/or project leads, when necessary Analyze requirements to create and manage design documentation, in accordance with applicable engineering standards, product development processes, and quality systems Drive process improvements and identify inefficiencies within the team or project May travel to customer sites to provide customer service support and help resolve problems What Do You Need? Required Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field 5+ years of product development experience in electrical engineering, including electrical hardware (HW) and firmware (FW) Experience in embedded hardware (HW) design with 32-bit microcontrollers (e.g., ARM, Cortex) Proficiency in designing low-noise analog circuits to support precision sensors Experience with low-power DC/DC power supplies and rechargeable battery systems Expertise in PSpice or equivalent circuit simulation tools Proficiency in schematic capture, EMI/EMC and grounding principles, PCB design oversight, low-power analog design, and board‑level circuit troubleshooting Experience with analog‑to‑digital conversion, digital logic, memory, and signal processing Programming experience in Python and C/C++ Desired Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Experience in Internet-of-Things or other network protocols and wireless technologies Experience in design of battery‑backed circuit and wireless technology Linux and Real Time Operating system knowledge Experience integrating Field Programmable Gate Arrays and developing electronic control logic What Can We Give You? Pay & Benefits Competitive market salary from $110,000 - $135,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience.
