Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Manage logistical operations associated with delivery of customer merchandise Use route planning software to create efficient delivery routesProvide information for contract carriers performing delivery servicesResolve customer, vendor and residential consumer issues throughout the dayIdentify problem areas to improve operational efficienciesEnsure that all deliveries are completed within established time frameConfirm contract carriers complying with contract and industry expectationsAllocate and request additional resources as neededExercise independent judgement with respect to operational needsDevelop and mentor staff to reach goals; train staff on company policies and proceduresCarry out managerial responsibilities, including interviewing, hiring, disciplining and resolving issuesEnsure compliance with corporate warehouse policies, procedures and programsOverseeing the supervision of up to 5 direct reports within the regionSupervise employees in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, and addressing complaints/resolving problemsCollaborate with fellow peers on daily functions including work allocation, training, and problem resolution.Performing other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor's degree in business or related field requiredRegional travel requirementExceptional verbal and written communication skillsMust have very strong time management skillsBe able to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time effectively.Physical Demands and Work Environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
