Amazon Games is looking for an experienced Lead Game Analyst to help bring games to market and develop business opportunities for Amazon.

As a Lead Game Analyst, you will coordinate a team of analysts working to provide insight and drive key business and game initiatives. You will work closely with product managers, game designers, and leadership to analyze and find solutions to modern gaming challenges.

Key job responsibilities
  • Support a team of analysts working on our games. That means planning, setting goals, coaching and mentoring.
  • Partner with Product Managers to understand players and define game and product goals.
  • Use analytical languages and tools like SQL, Redshift and Tableau to dive deep and answer customer questions.
  • Present descriptive and prescriptive metrics and analysis that empower partner teams to make smart decisions about our games.
  • Coach and empower partners, peers and teammates. Spread your skills and knowledge of game analytics to everyone around you.
  • Own the data narrative and craft the right message for your audience. Explain complex concepts in language that technical and non-technical teammates will understand and act upon.

About The Team

The Game Analytics BI team is a group of talented and collaborative analysts. Together with Data Engineering and Data Science we support Amazon's entire portfolio of live and upcoming games. We're gamers who love using data to understand "What's fun" and bring more of that to our players.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience
  • 7+ years of SQL experience
  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Passion for gaming
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market.
