Business Intelligence Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Monetization Data Science and Engineering team as a contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering end-to-end data engineering and business reporting projects for various stakeholders internal to Amazon.
The contractor will report to the Director of Data Science and work closely with the Data Scientists, Engineers, and Data Engineers on developing BI/analytics solutions to measure the performance of new and existing solutions (including ML models) and surface new opportunities for improvements.
The ideal candidate will have experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools, as well as experience with building and maintaining prod-level data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries). Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimize BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability) is also essential.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Data Scientists, Engineers, and Data Engineers on developing BI/analytics solutions to measure the performance of new and existing solutions (including ML models) and surface new opportunities for improvements.
- Build and analyze key metrics to uncover trends and root causes of issues and own ad-hoc deep dive investigations into existing customer journeys to identify root causes of issues and surface improvement opportunities.
- Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing data pipelines, metrics, reports, visualizations, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive business decisions.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to optimize and adopt applications within the AWS ecosystem.
- Migrate dashboards to new visualization tools, conduct thorough testing, deploy the new tools, and train users on the updated visualization platform.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with building and maintaining prod-level data artifacts (e.g. ETL, data models, queries)
- Knowledge of how to improve code quality and optimize BI processes (e.g. speed, cost, reliability)
- Bonus Points: Experience with prod-level Tableau reporting, scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, or R), and AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift.
