To protect and deliver the Del Taco Brand and grow sales while maximizing the efficiency and profitability of the restaurant by leading the Del Taco Way with the General Manager or as the lead manager.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Support the General Manager’s efforts to adequately staff the restaurant with quality people who are passionate about achieving standards, exceeding expectations, and delighting customers by:
  • Recruiting, hiring, and retaining all restaurant employees in compliance with the employee position report.
  • Ensuring the entire team is certified according to the current training process at all times.
  • Fostering an environment of continuous learning.
  • Creating a service-oriented culture.
  • Promoting an environment of fun and teamwork.
  • Evaluating performance and recommending salary increases.
  • Recommending, approving, and administering disciplinary action, suspension, and/or termination.
  • Developing and growing team members.

Deliver the Brand to everyone the Del Taco Way by:

  1. Executing Del Taco Standards and using our processes and systems 100% of the time.
  2. Maintaining the facility and customer areas.
  3. Maintaining all equipment to operational and safety standards.
  4. Delivering only quality products to Del Taco standards every time.
  5. Adhering to cleaning schedules and standards.
  6. Ensuring employees are in proper uniform.
  7. Ensuring a consistent service experience.
  8. Ensuring POP and signage is present and in the approved location.

Achieve or exceed Sales plan and build customer counts and loyalty by:

  1. Assisting the General Manager in identifying and communicating sales goals (daily, weekly, year over year).
  2. Ensuring the right people are in the right places according to projected/actual sales.
  3. Increasing customer count and check average, and maximizing capacity and customer value.
  4. Supporting the General Manager in identifying and executing Local Store Marketing opportunities to attract new customers.
  5. Staying aware of local events; Understanding the store’s current trade area and competition.
  6. Executing speed (speed with a smile) and service standards.
  7. Flawlessly executing marketing promotions and campaigns.

Achieve or exceed profitability plan:

  1. Maintaining staffing levels to actual sales.
  2. Complying with labor laws.
  3. Accurately ordering and managing inventory to reduce waste and prevent theft.
  4. Ensuring cash handling procedures and standards are in place and followed.
  5. Performing cash audits and addressing identified issues.
  6. Executing safety and health standards.
  7. Minimizing R&M / Supplies and Services costs by managing service vendors efficiently.
  8. Achieving and communicating controllable cost targets.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1 – 3 years experience in QSR industry / full service concept or 1 – 3 years experience within Del Taco management.
  3. Knows all Del Taco food safety standards and is ServSafe Certified.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; great telephone manner.
  5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and math skills.
  6. Ability to work with minimal supervision, under pressure.
  7. Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, and promote learning, development, and career growth.
  8. Must possess a valid driver’s license, insurance, and use personal vehicle to make bank deposits and travel to other restaurants/business locations as required.
  9. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs, or technical developments). All duties are expected to be performed while clocked in.
