Pay Rate: $18.00 

What’s a typical day as a Shipping Coordinator? You’ll be:

  • Analyze Shreveport’s production schedule and communicate to customers in support of that schedule.
  • Perform all shipping transactions in SAP to support outbound loads and inbound loads..
  • Train site employees on shipping transactions and supervise that work.
  • Arrange transportation to deliver bulk finished goods to our customers when necessary.
  • Works closely with Material Manager, Inbound and Outbound Logistics Coordinators.
  • Perform various other duties as necessary
  • Follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Conform to site PPE requirements.
  • Support site specific behavioral safety process by conducting observations and participating in other related activities.
  • Report all safety incidents and near misses and participate in investigations as needed.
  • Represent Solvay, USA through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
Required skills, knowledge, and experiences:
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent). 
  • Experience in shipping, logistics and freight tendering system preferred. 
  • Experience with SAP manufacturing, inventory, and customer order management systems in a chemical and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Truck and Rail transportation.
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment capabilities and familiarity with plant product line.
  • Ability to build and maintain good working relationships with customers and carriers.
  • Effective communication skills and strong organization skills
  • Must be proficient in managing frequent phone & e-mail communications and making changes to work already produced.
  • Other computer skills to include Google Suite, Word, Excel  and Powerpoint.
  • Team Player – have a positive attitude and ability to work well as a team ;
  • Professionalism and attention to detail; Resourceful and proactive.
