As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Underwriter, Primary Liability.


Role Overview:

As an Underwriter, Excess Liability, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our Excess Liability line of business. You will be responsible for all aspects of portfolio management, including solicitation or submissions, underwriting analysis preparing and issuing indications/quotations/binders and marketing for our Excess liability products to an exclusive wholesale broker. The role also requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, and underwriting risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote our Excess Liability products to an exclusive wholesale broker.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and internal teams, to drive business growth and retention.
  • Evaluate and underwrite Excess Liability risks, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret data to determine risks and potential exposures.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging risks to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to assess and price risks effectively while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering timely underwriting decisions.



Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in the Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Industry
  • Knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and industry regulations.
  • Proven track record of building and managing relationships with brokers and/or agents.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel: 10-15%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Products: Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
