Lead AV Engineer – Klaviyo Position: Lead AV Engineer. Company: Klaviyo, an inclusive employer and member of myGwork, the largest global platform for the LGBTQ+ business community. About the Team Klaviyo’s global corporate Information Technology (IT) team provides technology systems, administration, and support to Klaviyos worldwide. The IT Collaboration Technology & Engineering (CT&E) team manages the life‑cycle of collaboration technology and audiovisual systems. The team works closely with IT Searchbar, IT Networking, IT Systems, Security, Risk, and Trust teams, and the broader Engineering department. About the Role As the Lead AV Engineer, you will shape and drive AV initiatives across the organization. You will build and lead a team of AV technicians, oversee design, installation, and maintenance of AV equipment, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions. The role requires project management, ensuring that all AV projects are completed on time, within budget, and with the highest standards of quality and performance. You will mentor your team, fostering continuous learning, optimizing workflows, and enhancing the overall AV experience for users. Responsibilities Oversee the design, installation, and maintenance of AV equipment in various environments. Manage project lifecycles, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery. Mentor and develop a team of AV technicians. Serve as the primary owner of the ticket queue for collaboration technology. Provide coaching and guidance to junior team members. Support conference rooms and unified communications technology on a global scale. Eliminate manual processes through automation. Support remote and in‑office Klaviyos with real‑time troubleshooting. Document processes and write knowledge‑base articles. Establish team standards and monitor OKRs. Impact Ensure priority tickets for collaboration technology are resolved quickly. Guide junior team members towards growth and expanded impact. Improve root‑cause diagnostics for real‑time support. Qualifications Principal‑level AV Engineering expertise: 5+ years in AV engineering. Leadership in AV operations: proven experience leading and mentoring AV teams. Advanced live production proficiency with audio consoles, video switchers, cameras, microphones, and broadcast‑quality live TV production. Strategic project management: manage complex AV projects from conception to completion. Unified communications and streaming mastery (Wirecast, Zoom, Neat, Jamboard, etc.). Core technology integration experience with Jamf Pro, Okta, 1Password, Google Workspace, Confluence/Jira. Workplace management system knowledge (Robin, OfficeSpace, Envoy). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Passion for adopting new AV technologies. Strong problem‑solving aptitude and innovation focus. Advanced networking for AV (wired & wireless). On‑site leadership and support: available at Boston office at least 4 days per week, with after‑hours/on‑call rotational support. Physical dexterity: able to lift up to 50 lbs. Travel >10% of the time to support remote offices and major events. Experience with AI tools and workflows is a plus. Nice to Have Experience with programming languages or scripting knowledge.
