Evoke is seeking a Database Administrator to join our team

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and manage database systems including Sybase ASE & Replication, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace.
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and patch management.
  • Automate routine database administration tasks using shell scripting.
  • Ensure data integrity and security across all database systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and design.
  • Manage cloud-based database services on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift).
  • Utilize database management tools such as DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.

Professional Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with expertise in Sybase ASE & Replication, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Proficiency in operating systems including UNIX (AIX, Solaris), Linux, and Windows.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, Redshift).
  • Strong knowledge of database management tools and utilities: DBArtisan, SQL Server Management Studio, pgAdmin, and MongoDB Compass.
  • Expertise in performance tuning and optimization using AWR, ADDM, Explain Plan, and SQL Trace.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Years of Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in Database Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting federal government contracts.
  • Relevant certifications in database administration or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Oracle Certified Professional).
