Job Description:
In addition to other duties as assigned, this position primarily exists to provide nursing, administrative, and clerical duties to assist in the delivery of quality patient care. This role emphasizes a team-based approach to care and supports each member of the team.

*Monday through Friday - 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.*

*Qualifications:*
1. Must have High School Diploma or equivalent or Medical Assisting Diploma or Associates Degree from an Accredited School is preferred but not required.
2. Great Customer Service in office and on the phone
3. Insurance knowledge preferred but not required
4. eCW knowledge preferred but not required
5. Detail oriented
6. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
7. Must comply with all OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
8. Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. Must demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations appropriately.
10. Must be able to work flexible hours as needed.
11. Must demonstrate ability to work as part of the team.
12. Must maintain patient confidentiality.
13. Previous experience preferred, but not required

*General Duties:*
General duties include, but are not limited to, the following abilities:
1. Registering and scheduling New Patient appointments
2. Answer calls from patients, specialist offices, facilities and potential new patients
3. Look up referrals and document correctly
4. Welcome calls to new patients, verify demographics, informing new patients of what PPN has available to our patients, examples: a. Knowledge of Sites and PPN Providers b. Ancillary Services- Ultrasounds, Retina Vue, After Hours Clinic, PPN Lab c. After Hours answering service

5. May call Pharmacies with prescription information
6. May call/dialogue with patients regarding test results or interpret medical information under the guidance of physician instructions.
7. Knowledge of Insurance plans that are in and out of network with PPN and utilizing the insurance tool.
8. Assisting with incoming calls when an office is closed a. Schedule appointments b. Looking to see if RX was sent to pharmacy and how to process a refill c. Create a Telephone Encounter and send to PCP d. Look up PCP

9. Participate in scheduled customer service training and computer training provided by Pioneer
Physicians Network Central Office.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.

*Physical Demands*
1. Requires standing or sitting for extended periods of time.
2. Some bending stretching, lifting and stooping may be required.
3. Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate office equipment including but not limited to telephone, keyboard, copier and fax machine.

4. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
5. Requires the ability to communicate with patients, office personnel and the community.
