Job Title: Registered Nurse - Medicine Specialty Job Specialty: Medicine Step Down Job Duration: 15 weeks Shift: 12 hours, 3x12 hour shifts Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience License: Current RN License issued by a State Nursing Board, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC) Certifications: - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association Must-Have: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures Job Description: - Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments- Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary- Administer medication as prescribed; initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products- Deliver patient care competently- Interact with family and patient to share care plans during the hospital stay and at discharge- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel- Delegate tasks to support staff- Perform other duties as assigned Skills: - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services- Good verbal and written communication skills- Ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors- Basic computer skills Education: - Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing Languages: English - Speak, Read, Write
