Shift: Night shifts, Monday to Friday, PM position, 3 shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours: 36.00 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience

License: Current RN License issued by a State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

Must-Have: Ability to care for MS/SD patients holding in the Emergency Department and flexibility to float if not needed in medical-surgical units

Job Description:

- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and medical treatments; note changes in physician orders
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary
- Administer prescribed medications, initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver competent patient care
- Interact with patients and families to share care plans during hospital stay and at discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Work in the Emergency Department with medical-surgical/stress disorder holds awaiting hospital placement, not directly in the ED itself
- No blocked schedule available; must be flexible

- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program
- Preferred Skills: None specified

Languages: Proficiency in English (Speak, Read, Write)
