Job Overview As Senior Solution Architect – Data Platform, you will contribute to the evolution of our company-wide data, AI, and analytics platform, serving central teams and markets. This role is pivotal in shaping the architecture of our next‑generation data platform leveraging AWS, Snowflake and cutting‑edge AI technologies. Why join the PMI Data Platform Architecture Team? A unique opportunity to transform and evolve our global data, AI and analytics platform that delivers data solutions to the entire company using cloud‑native technologies Engage with our customers across all functions and regions Collaborate with other architects, engineers, and our security teams to build robust, scalable, secure and self‑service industrialised data and AI platform solutions Key Responsibilities Data Platform Design and Architecture: Design and architect end‑to‑end solutions for data platforms, integrating data lakes, warehouses, and advanced analytics capabilities, primarily using Snowflake and AWS cloud, aligning to business requirements with emphasis on scalability and security Develop and maintain reference architectures, blueprints and solution design patterns for the data platform Create and maintain capability models and architecture blueprints to guide current and future‑state implementations Guide the integration of modern database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases Guide the technical implementation and build of a data platform and application infrastructure services by working closely with the engineering team Ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards Collaborate with business users to design solutions for intuitive and scalable UI/UX solutions Conduct regular security reviews in collaboration with the security team and submit architectural designs to the review board for evaluation and approval Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to gather requirements and define strategies for data platform modernization Work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation of architectural solutions Technology and Vendor Assessment: Participate in evaluation and recommendation of emerging data platform vendors and tools, leading proof‑of‑concept initiatives and pilot projects, ensuring alignment with business and technology platform needs Best Practices and Standards: Establish and enforce data platform architecture best practices, standards, and guidelines Create and deliver reusable technical assets and design patterns that accelerate adoption of data platform solutions on AWS and Snowflake Architectural Guidance and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all data platform solutions Provide guidance and architectural support to data engineers and developers in setting up and building data platform infrastructure and solutions Mentorship and Leadership: Mentor junior architects and collaborate with other architects to drive overall technology strategy Stay on Trend: Lead with industry trends, emerging technologies, data and integration patterns to drive innovation within the organization Project Planning: Participate in estimation of project timelines, resources, and budgets related to architecture efforts Requirements Education and Architecture Experience: Over 8 years’ experience in designing and developing database or data warehousing solutions, including modern data platforms, ensuring scalability, security, governance and cost efficiency Technical Proficiency: Extensive hands‑on experience in Big Data, Distributed Systems and cloud architectures, particularly on AWS Expert level knowledge and a minimum of 3 years’ experience with Snowflake Data Platform Architecture experience with dbt and Matillion is desired Experience and good understanding of cloud infrastructure, networking and IAM services on AWS Database Knowledge: Proficient with relational databases and NoSQL databases, such as DocumentDB and GraphDB Skilled in working with both structured and unstructured data Integration: Strong knowledge of data integration methods, including messaging, queuing, change data capture and data virtualization BI/Visualization: Experience with BI tools like Power BI; graph visualization reporting is a plus Data Concepts and Management: Solid understanding of data lake, data mesh and data fabric architectures Good understanding of data management and governance practices in large organisations Architectural Expertise: Proficient in architecting and documenting data platform solutions at various levels using solution architecture methodologies and best practices Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts and align with both technical and business audiences Given that this is just a short snapshot of the role we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all the requirements listed above.
