POSITION PURPOSE:

The Production Lead will direct operations within their work department(s) and ensure the quality of products. This encompasses maintaining their work schedule for on-time shipping, ensuring training of operators, assisting maintenance in simple repairs, tracking materials for production purposes, and working productively with quality and engineering. Comply with 6S by maintaining shop cleanliness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Quality Department to monitor and maintain established quality standards within respective work department(s).
  • Assist the supervisor with on-time shipments.
  • Ultimate responsibility for ensuring training of employees as needed (sometimes training will be delegated by the Lead to another operator).
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of department or other areas assigned.
  • Keep machines cleaned and follow up on maintenance issues. If maintenance issues are not properly executed or in a timely manner, Lead should notify their Supervisor.
  • Enforce all safety rules.
  • Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills and abilities)

  • Has working knowledge of manufacturing and above average understanding of Rocore products.
  • Exhibits good problem- solving skills.
  • Able to use computer software to check inventories and read pertinent reports.
  • Exhibits adequate verbal communication skills.
  • Understands and willing to enforce all company policies and procedures per handbook.
  • Should have basic math and reading skills along with the ability to use measuring equipment as needed to perform the job.
  • Must have the ability to become company-certified in overhead crane usage. Company cranes are controlled remotely from the ground.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels):

  • Preferred minimum of 1 year prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage people and workflow
  • Experience level would represent above average knowledge of product and processes.
