Lab Technician Quality Lab Technician Responsibilities performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support plant operations in a timely fashion recording and sometimes interpreting results to present to senior colleagues; using computers and performing mathematical calculations for the preparation of graphs and or reports following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Operates and takes ownership of advanced laboratory equipment i.e. Microwave IC ICPMS and GCMS Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps. Completes R&D projects by assisting project team; performing analysis and participating in group and project meetings. Requirements the ability to understand theory maintain and calibrate technical equipment; time management skills in order to work on several different projects at the same time Physical Requirements: Candidates need to show evidence of the following : the ability to learn specific practical techniques and apply this knowledge to solve technical problems good hand and eye coordination and the ability to use technical equipment with accuracy; flexibility in order to work with and provide support for a number of people excellent oral communication skills in order to work effectively with colleagues from all parts of the organization and to explain complex issues to interested parties; teamwork skills patience attention to detail. Due to the nature of laboratory work normal color vision is essential.
