The Staff Pad is seeking a Field Operations Manager for our client in Houston, Texas. From their start over 48 years ago, they were one of the first in-building property technology innovators. Today, they are building on that legacy as a stable, but innovative provider of video, data, and digital transformation services to the largest owners and managers of hotel and multifamily brands in the world. 

The Field Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of our field service teams, including both third-party contractors and in-house employees. This role is pivotal in establishing and implementing policies, objectives, and initiatives to enhance the performance of our field operations.

The successful candidate will be tasked with developing service level standards to ensure consistent and high-quality performance from field operations resources. A critical aspect of this role involves driving financial efficiency by reducing costs per work order, minimizing the number of callbacks within 30 days of initial service, and improving customer satisfaction metrics. The Field Operations Manager will also implement and manage systems to capture and report on service metrics, including customer feedback and trends related to field operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and accept feedback.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building and maintaining relationships.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage an annual budget exceeding $8M for both third-party contractors and in-house field resources, with an expectation of growth in line with company expansion.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures to ensure quality results in the field.
  • Recruit, certify, manage, and hold accountable both contractors and employees responsible for field services, including project deployment, routine maintenance, and change management.
  • Establish performance metrics for field operations and cross-train technical support staff to minimize the need for field service intervention.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all field service resources.
  • Ensure proper allocation of jobs among deployment teams and service technicians.
  • Develop and implement methods to record, assess, and analyze customer feedback related to field services.
  • Collaborate closely with the Project Management and Deployment Teams, ensuring that hardware is configured to standards before shipping to field resources.
  • Work with the Service department to ensure prompt, professional, and satisfactory completion of work orders.
  • Act as a liaison between field operations and other company divisions.
  • Serve as the field operations point of contact with leadership at affiliated entities, participating in integration teams as needed.
  • Engage in testing and approving new products and services that may impact field operations.
