Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Oncology - Urology

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Days, 5x8 Hr

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: 1 year of experience required

License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

Must-Have: Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures

Job Description:

- Provide nursing care to a range of patients with health issues from simple to complex.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting any changes in physician orders.
- Assist physicians during the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data from patients, observing manifestations and intervening when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed.
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver patient care competently and interact with patients and their families regarding care plans during hospital stays and upon discharge.
- Inform patients and their families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.

Skills & Experience:

- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.

Education:

- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing

Preferred Skills:

- Experience in Oncology and Urology Nursing
- Experience with Chemotherapy
