Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Specialty: Oncology Clinic

Job Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shifts, No weekends

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required

License: Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association; Prefer chemotherapy certification

Must-Have: Chemotherapy certification, Oncology experience, Patient care skills, RN license

Job Description:
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note changes in physician orders for assigned patients
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients; observe physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary
- Administer medication as prescribed
- Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver patient care competently
- Interact with family and patients to share the care plan during hospital stay and upon discharge
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff
- Perform other duties as assigned

Skills Required:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
- Basic computer skills

Education Required:
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program

Education Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program

Languages:
- Proficiency in English (Speaking, Reading, Writing)
