Immersion Ultrasonic Technician Level I

Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Non-destructive evaluation (NDE) Trainee or Level II IUT technician for 2nd or 3rd shift. In this role, you will perform Immersion Ultrasonic testing using automated IUT equipment in our fast-paced NDE lab in accordance with industry and customer specifications
Responsibilities
- Conduct IUT test using ultrasonic equipment to ensure the quality or detect defects in test pieces-Set-up, utilize and calibrate IUT test equipment-Interpret codes and specifications-Clearly and legibly report test results-Use approved techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, -----ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations-Capability of analyzing C-scan data and A-scan presentations-Preform other job-related tasks as needed
Skills / Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 80hr UT school certificate meeting element standardsValid driver's license, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment requiredDocumented on the job (OJT) hours or a level II certificate from a previous employer requiredAbility to work day or night shiftAbility for possible Travel2 years of NDE experience in the oil and gas or aerospace industries preferredAbility to work without supervision and be an independent thinker where you will need to make on the spot decisionsAbility to work in a team environment and have the ability to collaborate with personnel in order to complete projects on time
