Location and ScheduleThis is a full time position located in Grand Island, NE. The schedule is Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. and may include on call duty, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
The Main Responsibilities- Provisioning, installing, and Maintaining E911/911, DS0/DS1/DS3 and above circuits. Conducting tests associated with the installation, repair, turn-up of T1 and HDSL spans for Hi-Cap and T1 Circuits. Handling copper and fiber outside the plant.
- Basic electricity knowledge (through classes or on the job-related training). This includes reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, equipment drawings, technical manuals, and AC/DC usage and measurements.
- Reading cable prints and maps and understanding design services word docs. Ability to use a Windows-based laptop as a testing and diagnostic tool and using Microsoft Outlook.
- Will be working both independently with little supervision and in teams. Meeting work deadlines and providing Customer Service experience face-to-face as well as over the phone. Problem solving, coordinating testing and troubleshooting customer lines or toll lines using test equipment and/or coordinate testing of customer lines with others including company and customer personnel, as well as with the assistance of the control and/or dispatch centers.
- Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and test equipment such as Tberds, laptop, HST 3000, 965 DSP, Sidekick, Volt-ohm meter, oscilloscopes, transmission measuring sets or comparable testing equipment. Connecting color coded wires and cables to terminals, attaching or detaching various kinds of hardware to wires, cables and buildings.
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays. May be assigned to work out of town for varying lengths of time. Requires a valid state driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- Wear safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate safe clothing and follow established safety practices and procedures. Wear attire that is appropriate for effective interaction with customers.
- Work independently with minimal or no supervision. May work in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).
- May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet. May require pole climbing certification.
- When working aloft with ladders or other equipment with weight-capacity ratings, employees must adhere to the Company safety policy and equipment weight requirements.
- May perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting and/or moving objects weighing over 75 pounds.
- May perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
Preferred
- 2+ years experience within the last five years with these skills:
- Installing and repairing design services products such as DS0/DS1
- Installing and repairing multiplexing equipment for business customers
- Utilizing test equipment such as Laptop, Tberd, 965 DSP, and HST 3000
The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$14.90 - $41.12- in these states: Nebraska
As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
