The Branch Service Manager- Travel is responsible for overseeing all branch operations and leading a team in execution of sales and service objectives. This position is responsible for planning and directing all branch functions ensuring compliance, operational, and customer service expectations are met. The Branch Service Manager- Travel is responsible for assessing skillsets, assigning resources, and serving as a coach to drive the travel team and individual performance to meet sales and service objectives. The position is responsible for coaching, motivating, and creating a positive work environment that demonstrates the Ameris Approach and aligns with the Bank’s Mission, Vision, Purpose, Experience Expectations, and Values. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
· Strictly adheres to Bank Secrecy Act requirements and applies organizational policies and procedures in all activities.
· Implements strategy, assesses and monitors performance, motivates and manages a team to meet and exceed service and sales and service goals objectives as outlined by Bank leadership.
· Leads, recruits, trains, coaches, schedules, motivates, and evaluates the work of the travel team which may include Tellers, Personal Bankers, Universal Bankers, Assistant Branch Managers.
· Executes staffing and onboarding strategies for the travel team.
· Demonstrates effective sales strategies to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships and guides team to achieve sales objectives through action planning.
· Oversees the customer experience for branches within region by assessing customer and employee feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and researching and resolving complex problems to ensure customer service excellence.
· Manages branch safety, security, and compliance.
· Protects against criminal or fraudulent activity, risk or exposure.
· Performs regular audits of vault and teller cash with proper documentation.
· Responsible maintaining customer base and meet growth expectations.
· Ensures regular communication with Bank leadership.
· Maintains knowledge of banking products, programs, services, and promotions.
· Leads training and staff meetings for the travel team.
· Approves policy exceptions within authorized limits.
· Responsible for achievement of branch objectives, sales and service objectives as set by Bank leadership.
· May perform all sales and service functions of the branch as needed, including meeting or exceeding established targets.
· Practices ethical sales behaviors in accordance with the Bank’s Core Values of Integrity and Honesty.
· Always acts in the best interest of the customer when offering additional products and services.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
· Highly motivated team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Knowledge of branch operations.
· Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.
· Intermediate PC proficiency.
· Intermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office products.
Industry and Work Experience:
· 3 or more years of retail banking experience required.
· Supervisory, leadership or mentoring experience required.
· Branch operations experience required.
· Cross selling experience required.
· Sales management and business development experience preferred.
· Consumer credit experience preferred.
Academic:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred.
