Senior Operation Manager Fulfillment

The Senior Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the distribution and warehousing operations within the facility. This key leadership position requires a highly experienced professional with a deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and warehouse operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Strategic Planning

o Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency, productivity, and profitability of the distribution and warehousing operations.

o Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with the company's overall objectives.

 Customer Liaison

o Collaborate with other internal departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance to share customer insights and contribute to the improvement of products and services.

o Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers by being their primary point of contact. Establish trust and credibility with clients, understanding their needs and expectations.

o Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Act as an advocate for the customer within the company, ensuring that their issues are resolved promptly and to their satisfaction.

 Facilities Maintenance

o Work with security vender to develop, implement, and safeguard warehouse operations to enforce safety and security protocols

o Oversees maintenance and repairs with vendors, reviewing quotes/proposals, to complete time sensitive projects

 Process Optimization

o Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and cost-saving measures.

o Design and implement streamlined processes to enhance the flow of goods from receipt to shipping, minimizing processing times and ensuring optimal utilization of resources.

o Continuous management of storage devices per customer needs to ensure maximum efficiency in the picking and put away processes.

 Inventory Management

o Oversee inventory control procedures, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of stock levels, reconciling discrepancies, and minimizing shrinkage.

o Develop inventory strategies to optimize stock levels while meeting customer demand.

 Team Leadership

o Manage and lead a team of managers, supervisors, warehouse staff, and other operational personnel.

o Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to foster a high-performance culture, motivating employees to achieve operational excellence.

 Compliance and Safety

o Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

o Work collaboratively with HR to Implement and maintain safety programs to minimize accidents and create a safe work environment for all staff.

 Vendor and Supplier Management

o Collaborate with procurement teams to establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.

o Collaborate with finance to negotiate contracts and terms to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.

 Performance Monitoring

o Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the performance of the distribution and warehousing operations.

o Implement corrective actions as needed to meet or exceed performance targets.

o Communicate and plan coverage for leadership absences.

 Warehouse Optimization

o Collaborate with solutions to stay informed of emerging technologies and implement relevant tools, software, and systems to optimize warehouse management, order processing, and inventory tracking.

 Budget Management

o Responsible for budget preparation and adherence.

o Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain financial discipline in the operations department.

 Continuous Improvement

o Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging employees to provide feedback, suggest innovative solutions, and participate in process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 Advanced knowledge of production machinery and job-related service delivery equipment and processes are required

 Experience with process flow design and implementation

 Experience with proper documentation for process flows, building layouts, projects management, procurement ROI to obtain executive approval

 Six Sigma certification preferred

 Strong excellent verbal and written communications skills, proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization

 Ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, training

 Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

 Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

 Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet timely deadlines

 Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude to promote a great working environment

 Work with all departments to create a safe and healthy work environment

 Must be flexible with work schedule when needed

Equipment Knowledge:

 Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

 Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems

Experience Requirements:

Generally, requires minimum of seven (7+) years’ experience in warehouse operations, manufacturing, or distribution environment. Minimum three (5) years of supervisory experience.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field preferred or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
