The primary responsibility of this role is to assemble, install, and test electrical components and systems according to engineering specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical assembly, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.Individual job duties may include, but are not limited to:Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications to understand assembly requirements.Assemble electrical components and systems, including wiring harnesses, control panels, circuit boards, and other electrical devices, using hand tools, power tools, and soldering equipment.Install electrical components into production aircraft ensuring proper alignment and connection.Perform bench and assembly line operational check out, troubleshooting, repair and adjustment of electrical and electronic systems, lighting circuits, power plant systems, wing fold circuits, missile launch racks, aircraft instrumentation, provide flight test instrumentation, fire wiring system, fuel system.Assemble, install, check out physical characteristics and modify wire bundles to aircraft of aircraft mock ups.Bench assemble electrical or electronic components and conductors into electrical units and systems before methods and procedures have been established.Cut, identify, strip, tin, solder, attach components, and pot to prepare wire for assembly.Tie, seal, and pack assembled bundles and units.Install wire bundles or other electrical and electronic components in aircraft, power plants or ground support equipment.Test assembled electrical systems to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with quality standards.Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues and make necessary repairs or adjustments as needed.Collaborate with engineers and other team members to identify and implement improvements in assembly processes and techniques.Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including component inventory, work orders, and test results.Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location option.The following Physical Demands may be requirements of this job: Limited (0-1 Hrs) Crawling, Lying Down (back, front, side), Forceful grasping, Occasional (1-3 Hrs) Requires lifting, pushing, pulling, and supporting up to 35lbs, Bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, squatting, reaching. The position may have frequent (3-6 hrs) exposure to Noise. Exposure to noise, hazardous chemicals, moving parts and occasional exposure to high/exposed places. Use of personal protective equipment for face/eyes and ears may be required.Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements:This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.Additional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): •Experience in electrical assembly installationPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Aircraft assembly experienceExperience with any of the following: avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshootingExperience in interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitionExperience troubleshooting electrical systemsTypical Education / Experience:High school graduate or GED. Prefer a minimum of one (1) or more years of related work experience.Additional Information:The selected candidate must be able to work any shift, as assigned.This is an hourly position governed by the IAM Collective Bargaining agreement.New Hires, as well as employees who transfer from non-union positions, may be required to attend some type of training upon their start. Once any required training has been completed all new employees will be considered on probation for a period of one hundred twenty (120) calendar days.
