This performance is driven by AI-powered tutoring, mastery-based advancement, and a fundamental reimagining of traditional classroom paradigms. The outcomes speak for themselves. We now require a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school environments, elevating standards for academic leadership, and serving as the authoritative spokesperson for a movement anchored in empirical learning science. This role is not centered on academic abstraction. It is a leadership imperative. You will take ownership of academic strategy in action, establish unambiguous performance standards, diagnose shortfalls in execution, and mentor high-caliber teams to achieve measurable success. You will operationalize our scientific underpinnings and advocate for this approach on a global stage. What You Will Be Doing Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science principles into actionable direction for curriculum design, motivational architecture, and application development. Conducting performance reviews of academic execution with Heads of Academics to ensure alignment, accountability, and delivery of outcomes across school teams. Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation to produce comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted solutions. Ensuring strategic coherence through planning processes, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on learner achievement objectives. Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to influence global perspectives on educational transformation. What You Won’t Be Doing Engaging in fragmented curriculum initiatives that do not contribute to organization-wide transformation. Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or operational implementation. Transferring accountability for performance to mid-level managers or external consultants. Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual arguments to win over skeptical audiences. Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across multiple schools, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement founded on empirical science and demonstrated impact. Basic Requirements Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field 7+ years leading academic or EdTech teams with evidence of exceptional learning outcomes Proven experience applying AI or technology to accelerate learning Track record of public thought leadership such as media, keynotes, books, or advising Strong performance management skills with the ability to hold elite peers to a high bar Fluent in interpreting data to diagnose learning issues and direct interventions Comfortable engaging directly with students, parents, and school leaders Nice-to-have Requirements Founded or led an innovative school model, lab school, or high-performing EdTech venture Experience navigating cultural, political, or international education contexts Deep familiarity with Bloom's 2 Sigma research and other mastery learning frameworks About 2 Hour Learning Education is broken, but 2 Hour Learning is proving it doesn’t have to be. Working with us This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
