Description:
Assists Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Home Medical Department. Provides set-up and instruction on home medical equipment and respiratory procedures. Performs patient assessment, implements respiratory protocols, and makes recommendations to physicians. Adheres to Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision andVvalues of Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare.
Position Purpose:

Assists Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Home Medical Department. Provides set-up and instruction on home medical equipment and respiratory procedures. Performs patient assessment, implements respiratory protocols, and makes recommendations to physicians. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Assists manager in overseeing daily operations of department.

Contributes to staff performance evaluation.

Develops and updates staff schedules.

Participates in selection and orients, trains and develops staff.

Performs routine and advanced respiratory procedures.

Performs diagnostic testing.

Implements respiratory therapy protocols.

Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:

Birth-28 days: Neonate

1-18 Months: Infant

18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler

3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged

6-12 Yrs: School-Aged

12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

18-65 Yrs: Adults

65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Hours/Schedule:

Full Time

40 Hours Per Week

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician program.

3-4 years of previous respiratory care required.

Knowledge of medical terminology and mathematics, science and mechanical aptitudes desirable.

Computer skills.

Ability to read, write and understand the English language; and communicate effectively with patients, visitors and staff while performing assigned duties.

Certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist and current Iowa License, BLS, Mandatory Reporter. Valid IA driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
