Certification Information on how to become certified can be obtained at: http://www.courts.ca.gov/programs-interpreters.htm. Responsibilities Provide interpretation in court proceedings and assist with language access. Receive daily calendar assignments and accurately complete daily activity logs or other required documentation. Identify and communicate any items that may impede interpreters' performance. Research and understand legal terminology used in court and functions of the court; perform other language interpretation duties as assigned. Qualifications One year of the equivalent of full-time experience acting as an interpreter-translator in a courtroom or in a business environment. Knowledge of legal terminology and functions used in court. Proficiency in English and Cantonese, including correct usage of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
