IT Data Consulting (ITDC) is a well-established national consulting firm, seeks a Web Content Manager/Editor to join our team of experts supporting a prominent federal website. We are looking for a creative thinker and wordsmith to be part of a team that curates, edits and posts a wide variety of content to this prestigious site.  

 Prospective candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment, handle deadline pressures with equanimity and prize accuracy. A “can do” attitude and flexibility are essential, with the ability to work independently yet collaboratively within our close-knit team. 

This role is a full-time, salaried position. Regular work hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. On-call responsibilities outside of regular hours include one weeknight watch, plus scheduled, rotating weekend and holiday watches.  

The assigned workplace is Fort Meade, Md., with telework options. Candidates must live within a reasonable driving distance of Fort Meade and be prepared to report to the office when required, sometimes with little to no notice.  

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

·      Five or more years’ professional experience with a degree in any of the following fields: journalism, writing, producing, editing or communications; 

·      Excellent writing, editing, copyediting and proofreading skills with demonstrated expertise in using the AP Style Guide; 

·      Experience posting copy and photos to the web using a content management system (includes systems based on Dot-Net-Nuke, WordPress, Wix, Adobe Experience Manager, etc.) with a basic understanding of HTML and SEO; 

·      An eye for selecting imagery to complement content and the ability to use Photoshop to crop and make minor photo edits (e.g., adjusting brightness/contrast);  

·      Must be able to pass a security background screening, or already hold a public trust clearance or CAC; 

·      Must meet all requirements for federal contractors, including drug tests and vaccinations; 

·      Authorization to work for any U.S. employer;  

·      Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the described duties and responsibilities.

·      Applies solid news judgment in handling and posting content in keeping with mission priorities and directives; 

·      Has an inquisitive mind and takes an analytical approach to style and grammar to ensure all copy is clean, clear, concise and accurate; 

·      Triages, switching seamlessly between multiple assigned tasks as mission requires; 

·      Identifies problems and demonstrates critical thinking by proposing solutions; 

·      Communicates and interacts professionally with individuals at varying levels of authority and across teams.
