Yard Manager
aifleet aspires to change the lives of some of the hardest working, most underappreciated individuals in today’s workforce –
truck drivers . A tech-first logistics company, aifleet is disrupting the antiquated $800B trucking industry with human-centric algorithms. We use artificial intelligence to schedule the most efficient routes for our drivers, prioritizing revenue per truck and driver experience. Our obsession with driver happiness allows us to minimize driver attrition and optimize driving time, demonstrating a model that would eliminate the perceived
trucker shortage
and the inefficiencies permeating the industry today. Through this model we are proving that trucking - a historically fragmented and transactional industry - can be efficient and compassionate.
About the Role
The Yard Manager is the point person for aifleet’s growing fleet of trucks. This person is ultimately responsible for representing aifleet to new drivers and key stakeholders, and managing the truck yard - moving trucks to and from the yard when necessary (usually day trips only), pre-trip inspections as truck drivers onboard, and more. This person will ensure the equipment is safe, clean, and ready to be seated when drivers come onboard. This person must have an active CDL and a safe driving record.
Initial Responsibilities
Keep the yard and yard office organized, clean and safe at all times
Check all trucks in the yard, ensuring they are safe and ready for our drivers
Lead field-based driver onboarding, conduct road tests and equipment checkout
Monitor and review pre-trip inspections to guarantee vehicle safety and compliance
Perform ELD/ Dash camera diagnostics
Conduct regional hiking as needed, including pick up / return of equipment out of town
Support driver offboarding, including equipment check-in and paperwork retrieval
Who (we think) You Are
While roles and priorities continue to evolve, we think you will need the following qualifications. If you feel you could drive impact in this role at aifleet and do not meet some of the following criteria, please do not hesitate to apply.
2+ years experience managing a truck yard for carriers with 100+ trucks
Comfortable with technology (e.g., use Motive to ensure the DashCam is correctly placed, email and laptop navigation)
Great attitude, ability to connect with the drivers and other aifleet team members, and manage new situations as they arise
We are not your normal trucking company - things change even more quickly, and we need someone who can roll with the punches
aifleet is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity. We are committed to finding talent that is not determined on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
