Job Description:

As a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining backflow prevention assemblies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Your role is crucial in preventing contamination of potable water systems by identifying and addressing potential backflow hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

•Perform inspections and tests on backflow prevention assemblies using specialized equipment.

•Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and maintenance activities.

•Identify and troubleshoot issues with backflow prevention devices and recommend necessary repairs or replacements.

•Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards related to backflow prevention.

•Communicate effectively with customers, providing education on backflow prevention and addressing any concerns.

•Coordinate with local authorities and water purveyors to ensure timely and accurate reporting of test results.

•Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

•Certification as a Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) or equivalent.

•Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to backflow prevention.

•Experience with testing and maintaining various types of backflow prevention assemblies.

•Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Additional certifications in plumbing or water management.

•Experience with customer service in a technical field.

•Familiarity with electronic record-keeping systems.

•Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 80 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks.

•Basic knowledge of yard equipment and tools is a plus.

•Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.

•Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
