OverviewPrincipal Solutions Architect, Real-time systems – PubNubPubNub powers the world’s most engaging real-time experiences—chat, live updates, and interactive applications—for over 2,000 companies. We’re looking for a Principal Solutions Architect to join our team. In this cross-functional role, you’ll act as a trusted advisor to enterprise customers, helping them design and deliver innovative real-time applications using PubNub SDKs, APIs, and platform features such as Illuminate and BizOps Workspace. You’ll combine technical leadership, AI expertise, and customer engagement to ensure our customers achieve long-term success and business value with PubNub. The RoleYou will:Partner with Sales, Product, and Engineering to align solution architecture with customer outcomesGuide customers through the design and implementation of scalable, real-time applicationsDevelop tailored solutions and reusable architecture patterns for enterprise use casesProvide hands-on expertise with PubNub SDKs, APIs, and platform componentsLead workshops, enablement sessions, and contribute to solution documentationChampion responsible AI-driven design, including personalization, prediction, and real-time insights What We’re Looking ForRequired5+ years in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or developer tooling, with direct SDK/API implementation experienceProven success translating complex business needs into scalable technical designs and leading cross-functional deliveryExpertise in distributed systems (Kubernetes, service mesh, secure APIs) and familiarity with CI/CD, testing, and modern developer environmentsTrack record designing AI-driven solutions (personalization, prediction, real-time insights) with knowledge of frameworks such as RAG, embeddings, streaming inference, and vector searchPreferredExperience with real-time or event-driven systems (pub/sub, messaging platforms)Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR)Background in developer experience, technical writing, or developer community engagementKnowledge of cloud infrastructure and networking (AWS, HTTP, TCP/IP) Why Join PubNubWork on real-time solutions at internet scale across industries like healthcare, fintech, streaming, and gamingCompetitive Total Compensation in the range of USD 160,000 – 210,000Remote-first culture with flexibility across the United States (Central/Eastern time zone preferred)Equity in a profitable, fast-growing infrastructure companyInclusive, growth-focused team where your impact is recognized PubNub is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
