MISSION

The Senior Contracts Specialist will assist in the timely and accurate review and processing of contracts with the goal to protect interests while maintaining honesty and integrity.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

  • Timely and accurate review of company and client contracts to ensure completeness, accuracy, delivery obligations, performance requirements, timelines, costs and payment schedules thereby minimizing A-C’s exposure to risk.
  • Processes contracts in accordance with company policies, legal and compliance requirements.
  • Maintains precise documentation on contractual records and retention of resolutions for future situations.
  • Produces adequate supporting documentation and maintains accurate records of work performed.
  • Maintains accurate records of important contracting reference materials.
  • Tracks all required compliance documents including bonding and insurance requirements, orders when necessary. Files with contract docs.
  • Fields inquiries from client managers, PMs, and other leaders regarding status of contract in A-C process.

ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES

  • Strong follow-up and personal documentation skills
  • Able to identify previously agreed to contract terms and translate that to a current contract.
  • Handle repeat customers, affiliated companies, and public works.
  • Identify subtle differences within contract
  • Process change orders, recognizing previous language changes to change orders and carry to future change orders.
  • Understands and differentiates bond classes with the ability to compute premiums and order bonds. As well as work closely with bond agent to assess and evaluate bonding rates keeping the company’s best interest in mind.
  • Liaising with staff on all levels of the company to analyze and determine a comprehensive contract strategy.
  • Understands and executes insurance requirements within a contract.
  • Fields inquiries from and proactively contacts client managers, PMs, and other leaders regarding risks involved in contract(s).
  • Coordinates with Safety Director for compliance with safety specifications and/or requirements.

Requirements and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in equivalent field, paralegal or CCCM Certification preferred
  • 2-3 years Construction Contracts Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Contract Law
  • Negotiation
  • Paralegal skills, legal vocabulary and business acumen preferred
