Vice President of Accounting and OperationsCompanyWe have been retained by a reputable family office (10B AUM+) based in Montgomery County, MD in their search for a Vice President of Accounting and Operations to oversee financial/operational matters related to the family’s diverse business and personal holdings which includes various investments, real estate, trusts and foundations. This person must have strong financial acumen and will have a high level of visibility to the family. They seek a bright, responsible, trusted person who understands the importance, scope and confidentiality of this critical position. The office is located in Potomac, Maryland.PositionThe Vice President will manage the financial affairs for the Family to include treasury, budgeting, financial planning, accounting, tax, risk management and systems. This role will devise strategy, solutions and plans for the effective and efficient operations of the Family’s holdings. This role will be responsible for all facets of the accounting cycle including financial and management reporting, review of financial statements, and operational accounting. This role is responsible for sensitive and confidential information relating to the Family’s personal and financial affairs and must exhibit the highest level of integrity.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Head of the Office, the financial team and the Family on key measures to monitor financial performance and be able to communicate effectively across the organization.Must have strong financial management experience with demonstrated skill in developing and implementing operational procedures and controls for the finance team and estate operations.Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements as well as monthly and quarter-end closing activities by prescribed deadlines.Work closely and collaboratively across the organization and outside advisors related to personal and financial affairs.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or related degree. CPA highly preferred.Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with at least 5 years in a management role within a family office, public accounting firm, real estate or privately held company.Solid financial management experience with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
