We pride ourselves on transparency and operate in a lean, high-trust environment that encourages everyone to take ownership of their domain.You will be a full-time member of our Field Service team and will work from our technical office in Sarasota Florida, with significant travel time as well. Given that we're a startup, you will be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability. That said, here are some responsibilities and qualifications we expect to stay relatively constant for this role.Core responsibilitiesMaintaining and servicing customer boats in the field as well as our fleet of internal boats in a timely mannerContributing to improving service standards, protocols, and processesCollaborating with engineering and production teams to implement improvements on boat designs, production methods, or service processes.Becoming proficient in assembling, troubleshooting, and disassembling all major boat systemsYou are flexible and willing to travel with short notice, ensuring that customer issues are resolved promptly Support with transportation and set up at boat showsTechnical training with customers, dealers, and internally within X ShoreExecute sea trials to assist in proper commissioning along with R&D supportBasic QualificationsProficiency in using mechanical and electric hand toolsWillingness to travel at least 50% on average with short noticeExperience building and troubleshooting electromechanical systems such as electricmotors, batteries, sensors, electronics, controls, pneumatics, etc.Experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, electrical schematics, and product data sheetsAbility to cultivate positive relationships with all external parties while working in the fieldAbility to operate independently and make technical decisions supported by dataExcellent written and verbal professional communication skillsGood written skills allowing you to keep record of maintenance and communicate fixes with customersAbility to work well under pressure and deal with all types of customers by yourself or in a team settingBonus qualificationsMechanical or technical degree and or 3+ years working in a mechanical fieldPrior experience in a fast-paced automotive or marine environmentExperience with electrical diagnosis and mechanical systemsExperience working with high-voltage EV systemsComfortable pushing an intense but sustainable paceEnthusiasm for boating and clean energyAt X Shore, we encourage diversity and consider all qualified applicants equally for employment, regardless of background, identity, or status.
