*Job Duties:*
* Administers and records medications, treatments, and monitoring (e.g., glucose checks) as ordered; reports and documents resident responses.
* Accurately transcribes physician's orders and completes monthly summaries as scheduled.
* Reviews and updates care plans, reflecting the resident’s current condition and directing the team accordingly.
* Notifies the RN Supervisor of significant changes in resident conditions and reports these changes appropriately.
* Assists physicians with rounds, examinations, and treatments as needed.
* Collects laboratory specimens (e.g., urine, cultures, stool) and arranges for delivery with accurate requisitions.
* Oversees and assists with post-mortem procedures and communicates resident deaths to appropriate parties.
* Supervises and directs care provided by nursing assistants to ensure adherence to the prescribed plan of care.
* Participates in team conferences, orientation of new staff, and quality assurance studies.
* Maintains a clean and safe environment, ensuring proper care for equipment and resident belongings.
* Performs additional duties as directed by the supervisor.
*Requirements:*
* Must be a graduate of an accredited LPN or LVN program.
* Must possess a current LPN/LVN license in PA or a temporary work permit (required at the time of the interview).
* BLS (AHA) certification required.
* Nursing home experience is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
