UPMC is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join their team in a casual role working in outpatient care. This is a float position that requires working at various locations in the region.

The LPN's primary role is to assist in the delivery of primary health services and nursing care to individuals and families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients and their families.
  • Conducts interviews with patients to answer questions related to healthcare problems and provides necessary counseling.
  • Administers medications and vaccines as ordered by the attending physician.
  • Performs laboratory duties, ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
  • Identifies and communicates educational needs of patients to their physician and provides teaching in these areas upon request.
  • Assists the physician in patient examination and performs specialized procedures.
  • Maintains competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program.
  • One year of clinical experience preferred.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania.
  • CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
