SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT (ENTREPRENEURSHIP): Adjunct / Substitute Instructor POOL (college credit) Join the San Diego Community College District in this part‑time, adjunct faculty position. The role requires teaching small business development courses in undergraduate and graduate programs across the district's campuses. Location: District WidePosition Type: AdjunctPosting Number: AJ00455Closing: Open until filled Responsibilities Plan and teach lecture and lab classes in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines. Be available to students outside of class for questions and support. Maintain current knowledge and expertise in small business development. Keep accurate teaching records and course materials. Create an inclusive learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas and interests. Fulfill all professional obligations of a part‑time/temporary faculty member. Assist the district in using the adjunct pool when a need arises and respond to direct contact from hiring departments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree AND at least two (2) years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught. OR Associate degree AND at least six (6) years of professional experience related to the subject of the course taught. Degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions. Desired Qualifications Full‑time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in Small Business. Foreign degrees evaluated by a NACES‑or‑AICE‑member association, with evaluation submitted online. Professional experience in small business development. Application Requirements Official continuous‑medium transcripts. Verification of previous work experience (if applicable). Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam (renewable every four years). Live Scan fingerprints; clearance must be received before first day of employment. Proof of U.S. employment eligibility. Instructors with advanced coursework or experience will be placed on the appropriate class and step of the Adjunct College Salary Schedules, effective the first month following receipt of documentation.
