Minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products. Experience with streaming media, such as live-streamed video. Preferred qualifications Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. Experience bringing a new product or significant feature-set to market. Experience with one or more of the following: large-scale fleet management, video conferencing, hardware products, factory, cloud architecture, real-time processing, OS platforms. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today’s leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can’t. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Act as a lead software architect and technical lead across the software organization. Drive cross-team technical excellence, including strategic planning and advocating for ongoing technical and infrastructure investments. Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and accountability within the software organization. Lead the technical lead organization as the team's most executive technical leader. Collaborate with product, program, and engineering managers, and cross-organizationally where necessary, to set product direction.
