MLR is seeking a skilled and empathetic Respiratory Therapist to join our team. In this position, you'll assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions. Key responsibilities include delivering exceptional respiratory care, managing mechanical ventilation, performing diagnostic tests, and educating patients and their families on respiratory health.
Schedule:
36 hour week
3x12s; rotating days
Schedule known 1 month in advance
Responsibilities for a Registered Respiratory Therapist:
Provide respiratory therapy services to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
Perform diagnostic tests such as spirometry, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulmonary function testing.
Assess patients' respiratory status, administer treatments, and monitor their response to therapy.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
Qualifications for a Registered Respiratory Therapist:
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) in New York.
Current BLS Certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Associate’s degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy or a related field.
Strong understanding of respiratory physiology, pathology, and therapeutic interventions.
