* Read, understand, and accurately prepare recipes.

* Correctly adjust recipes to produce required portions.

* Use portion control to maintain flavor, appearance, and contribute to cost containment.

* Follow written and oral instructions.

* Meet all schedules and assignments.

* Organize work and work area to complete assigned duties accurately and quickly.

* Accurately use measuring equipment and utensils

* Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures/requirements used in hospitals and food service areas.

* Knowledge of diets, diet terminology, and dietary abbreviations or ability to learn these.

* Servsafe or Food Handler Card

* Prior large volume cooking experience.

* Must be willing and able to work variable shifts (including graveyard, weekends & holidays), hours, and to rotate to various units/buildings/areas to meet the operational needs of the Department.

* Must have the ability to bend, stoop, or stand for long period of time.

* Must have the ability to move, lift heavy containers of 50lbs or more.

* This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
