Our client, Mediacom Communications Corporation, is seeking a Legal Specialist to join their team and report to their Chester, NY location. This is a contract to hire position.

Job Title: Legal Specialist

Location: Chester, NY

Pay Range: $20/hr

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage updates to the company’s Public Inspection Files
  • Ensure effective organization, timely execution, and submission of Public Inspection Files
  • Oversee and review all Home Security and Automation compliance issues across the organization
  • Perform compliance-related administrative tasks such as performing data entry, filing legal paperwork, and handling phone and email correspondence
  • Work with government and state and federal agencies as required, including submitting applications, answering questions, and providing information to agencies
  • Assist with the continued development of the Legal Department by recommending and/or implementing solutions to a wide range of challenges
  • Oversee railroad crossing permitting and certification of insurance requests, as needed
  • Perform other duties, as needed
Position Requirements:
  • Associate degree in a related field, required
  • 2 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, home automation and security, or related field
  • Experience working in the cable/broadband industry is a plus
  • General computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Acrobat
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and analytical skills, and communicates effectively both in writing and verbally
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines
