Job Description

Job Summary

As the Lead Product Application Specialist, you will provide technical applications support to a global sales organization, focused on the implementation of analytical instrumentation to determine water quality in global pharmaceutical, industrial, and municipal industries. You will work with internal technology and commercial functions, industry Subject Matter Experts (SME's), and customers to implement pathfinding technologies and develop best practices for the Siever's product line. As the applications champion for Total Organic Carbon (TOC) product line, you will play a pivotal role in driving its growth through close collaboration with Life Science Product Managers and commercial teams. Your responsibilities will include providing project management and execution in addition to technology and laboratory leadership. Through your expertise and dedication, you will ensure that Siever's products meet the evolving needs of our customers, enabling us to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the technical expertise for assigned analytical areas, ensuring cross-training on all instruments to enable seamless support for the commercial team.
  • Provide high-level technical and chemical consultation to commercial and aftermarket teams, supervising the delivery of expert guidance.
  • Manage method development, validation, and routine testing for complex and novel
  • applications.
  • Direct the design and execution of experiments to evaluate competitor instrumentation.
  • Develop and deliver advanced training on the capabilities and features of the company's and competitors' instrumentation.
  • Review and prioritize incoming Applications Lab projects for strategic value, time requirements, relevant SOPs, and the necessity of developing non-SOP experimental plans, advising the Product Lab Manager on scheduling and feasibility.
  • Oversee the troubleshooting and resolution of analytical testing failures and non-conformances, initiating and investigating corrective actions.
  • Author, review, and approve Standard Operating Procedures for the Applications Laboratory.
  • Ensure the quality of all results, establish improved record-keeping for quality management, and maintain a list of tested applications.
  • Enforce adherence to all EHS policies and procedures, collaborating with EHS to improve current procedures.


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical expertise in chemistry and engineering and analytical instrumentation
  • Hands-on expertise in water quality analysis utilizing Siever's instrument line
  • Exceptional communication abilities, adept at delivering compelling reports, methods and
  • presentations to diverse audiences
  • Comprehensive understanding of water treatment and cleaning validation processes within the Life Science sector.
  • Proficiency in implementing rigorous quality assurance and quality control practices tailored to the Life Science industry's unique expectations.
  • In-depth familiarity with global pharmacopeia regulations (USP, EP, JP, etc.) governing the Life Science domain.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and
  • knowledge sharing.


Education & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific field is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience of 5 years or more in a laboratory environment, product
  • management, or process development within the Life Science industry.

  • Compensation: The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all of the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range of $75,000 to $84,000 annually for this USA-based position.
