ASSISTANT DIRECTOR of COMPLIANCE AND SUPPORT- PROFESSIONAL STAFF

QUALIFICATIONS:

REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

JOB GOAL: To provide direction and support to district staff, students, and the community at-large with respect to compliance with district, state, and federal policies within the district's purview to maintain high levels of safety, order, and culture-building. Furthermore, the goal of this role is to develop systematic approaches that enhance district culture in ways that maximize positive experiences for stakeholders and minimize their adverse experiences related to the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Oversee the articulation and development of student discipline handbook policies as outlined in, and/or inspired by Board of Education policy.
* Support building-level principals as they design, sustain, and expand tier-one frameworks and foundational philosophies that guide decision making related to discipline policy and practice.
* Problem-solve with building-level administrators on student discipline and policy related concerns.
* Monitor data sets and provide data analysis reports related to district goals surrounding discipline, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Use those data sets to support systemic approaches to school-based discipline.
* Assist the Academic Services Department in the development of tiered behavior interventions.
* Assist with strategic oversight and program development for middle school academies.
* Facilitate discipline hearings for students removed from their school setting due to suspensions that exceed 9 school days.
* Oversee programming at the district's Temporary Alternative Placement Center.
* Serve as the district's Bullying Coordinator (Policy JFCF).
* Serve as a level- 1 investigator for school-related student discipline concerns and community complaints that are not directly related to curriculum and instruction (Policy KL-Community Concerns and Complaints).
* Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
* Complies with good safety practices.
* Complies with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
* Other duties/responsibilities deemed necessary may be assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities.

CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is consistent with typical office/school environment.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board Of Education.

FLSA: Exempt

RETIREMENT: Public School Retirement System (PSRS)

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: Valid Certification in School Leadership and Administration

CLEARANCES: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluations utilizing the Performance Based Teacher Evaluation process.
