Position Description:

The Institute for Health and Society's Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program is seeking to an adjunct faculty position at the level of Part-Time Instructor to serve as course director for MPH courses. Primary responsibilities, as needed, will include serving as: (i) a course instructor, and/or advisor within the MPH program, (ii) a guest speaker for a course session, CME lecture or workshop/seminar, (iii) a member of committee focused on evaluation of educational programs, and (iv) a resource for additional educational, research, and/or community service activities as needed.

The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) is a private medical school located in suburban Milwaukee. Within the MCW Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Master of Public Health degree program offers coursework towards a 42-credit Master of Public Health degree or 15-credit Graduate Certificate in Public Health. Courses are offered in a convenient, distance-learning format; all can be completed online. The mission of the MPH Program is to prepare and develop a competent, professional, and diverse public health workforce through community-academic partnerships in education, research, and service to enhance the health of the public. Specifically, MPH program goals include:

* Education: Provide high quality education that emphasized critical competencies in public health; Provide flexible learning opportunities through distance technology and interactive methods; Foster the development of professional public health values, concepts and ethical practice; Recruit and prepare a diverse student population for public health leadership positions
* Community Engagement: Provide leadership and serve as a resource in addressing and communicating current and emerging public health problems and issues; Foster collaboration among academicians, community and governmental organizations and students to enhance the health of the public
* Research: Conduct basic and applied interdisciplinary public health research, while providing students the opportunity to advance their research knowledge and experience, in order to address critical public health issues and contribute to the body of knowledge in the public health disciplines

Candidates must hold a terminal degree in a related field, and enhance or complement the aforementioned programmatic goals. Excellent written and oral communication skills are also essential.
