The RT/Pulmonary Function Technician is responsible for performing pulmonary function tests. Pulmonary function tests routinely include spirometry (pre and post and inhalant bronchodilator), calculation of lung volumes and capacities, and determination of the diffusing capacity of the lungs. The Technician will provide the obtained data to the physician for final interpretation of results.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Monitors and evaluates patient's physical and emotional condition during pulmonary function testing
* Monitors and evaluates the quality of patient's performance
* Performs routine pulmonary function tests including nebulizer treatment
* Properly identifies diagnosis and reason for testing by screening EHR. Checks for diagnostic order and reviews medical allergy list
* Reviews data and submits to reading physician and reports all critical results per protocol
* Cleans pulmonary function testing equipment and restocks supplies
* Upon completion of all pulmonary function testing, archives QC data to CRHC servers
* Troubleshoots minor equipment problems
* Operates & maintains and calibrates Vmax Spectra Respiratory Analysis System daily
* Enters all pertinent patient information into the Vmax Spectra Respiratory Analysis System
* Assists in the orientation of new personnel
* Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and/or traveling to meet patient and office needs

Required Qualifications:

* Graduate from an AMA approved program in Respiratory Therapy or Pulmonary Function or other healthcare related program
* Licensed Respiratory Therapist, RRT or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician
* Basic Life Support Certification. ACLS

Preferred Qualifications:

* CRTT
* ACLS

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $23.22 to $45.43+ per hour.
