About the Opportunity:

Paralegal/Business Operations Associate | $70-90k

* Reporting to the Associate Director of Business Operations, the Business Operations Associate will be part of the Business Operations department of David Zwirner, a central department of the Gallery. The Business Operations Associate will assist with a variety of tasks, ranging from Insurance to Real Estate, with a primary focus on legal matters. The role involves working closely with all departments of David Zwirner internationally, as well as multiple third parties.

What you'll do:

* Review and negotiate (under the direction of the Associate Director and external Counsel) agreements between David Zwirner and its suppliers, customers and third parties.
* Assist in management and maintenance of David Zwirner's standard contract clauses, templates, and processes with the goal of minimizing friction with vendors and clients whilst mitigating risk for the business.
* Devise and implement legal processes to enable both legal and business functions to operate effectively.
* Educate stakeholders on our policies and procedures, and communicate issues concerning contract risks and agreement structure.
* Correspond with and update clients as needed on legal matters.
* Assist in managing the Business Operations team's expenses, vendor invoices, and billing relationships.
* Assist in managing filing and record keeping of Real Estate and Corporate documents.
* Assist with Insurance renewals and claims, and record keeping of all policies.
* Assist with trademarks and copyrights management.

What we would like you to have:

* Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies and/or Art History preferred; a Paralegal certification is a plus but not required.
* 2-3 years of experience in a similar position in the field of contemporary art, law firms or corporate environment.
* Previous experience working closely with insurance brokers, attorneys, and third party consultants.
* Must be able to work with team members at all levels.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross departmentally.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues and clients.
* Focused, reliable, and attentive to detail.
* Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to work on multiple projects at once.
