Provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort and personal needs of patients. Assists pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. In Special Care Nurseries, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for assisting with the transport of healthy, uncompromised newborns from Labor and Delivery to the newborn admission nursery, cleaning equipment used on infants in the Special Care Nursery, and ordering patient care supplies from the storeroom and stocking the Special Care Nursery area. In Renal Services, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for assisting with the transportation of stable patients, preparation and maintenance of equipment, inventory and storage of supplies, and documentation of data on flow sheets. Patient Care Tech also acts a courier, delivering and retrieving items/materials as required.

REQUIRED

* Listed as a CNA on the Georgia Registry OR
* Graduate of a U.S. Military Medic course OR
* Enrolled in a School of Nursing and has completed one (1) full semester of clinical rotations OR
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or Medical Degree program
* GPN or EMT with one year experience with relevant training and experience


* Current BLS card (CPR)
