Key Objectives:

 

  • To be completely familiar with all types of guest rooms, hotel facilities and house entertainment.
  • To welcome guest at the main entrance, offering greetings appropriate to the time of day
  • To explain the valet procedures and ask if guests need directions
  • To assist guest with all baggage items
  • Receives and store guest luggage and maintain proper record keeping and controlling of luggage tags.
  • To tie luggage tags on to guest’s luggage especially for group check-in.
  • To guide arriving guest to the reception desk for check in.
  • To provide Valet Parking to all guests of the hotel and anyone who requests (self-parking optional)
  • Treat the guest vehicle with respect and not abuse the use of the vehicle.
  • To address the guest by name.
  • To be prepared to make room changes, transfer baggage from one room to another.
  • To remember guest names, especially repeat guests, VIPs and long staying guests and always greet guests as they are in the hotel
  • Must be able to know all Food and Beverage outlets; operational times to be able to recommend to guests
  • During check-out, always make a quick check of the room to ensure that the guests have not forgotten any personal items
  • Delivers messages, mails and packages to guest room timely
  • To assist the Guest Services Host in parcel packaging
  • Maintains and upkeep the appearance of the hotel lobby and entrance
  • To properly use the Radio and Alice to perform their duties.
  • To perform other duties as may be assigned

 

General Duties:

 

  • To be fully knowledgeable on relevant information relating to hotel facilities, and on all places of interest in the surrounding areas and Park areas and be capable to offer firsthand positive information to the hotel guests when required or requested to do so.
  • To note down any requests or information required by the hotel guests, as and when requested and to act accordingly without fail.
  • To attend pre-shift briefing and communications meeting required or requested by the Guest Service Assistant Manager and/or Front Office Manager.
  • To report for duty on time wearing the correct uniform and name tag always.
  • Take extreme care with personal grooming in order to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance.
  • To make sure that all Risk Assessment hazards are followed within the guidelines.

 

HSS

 

  • Ensures internal compliance with maintenance, safety and security procedures by following established ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materials International), NEC (National Electrical Code), NSF (National Science Foundation), OHSA as well as state and local codes.
  • Ensure full compliance of policies and procedures set forth within the Health, Safety & Security in the workplace and in line with the Merlin Entertainments Group Policy.
  • Understand risk assessments within own workplace and ensure reporting of any new risks to appropriate manager.
  • Compliance of safe working procedures for work activities within one’s job role, but cognizant of the effects on others prior to the activity/function. 
  • In cases of incidents or accidents ensure appropriate reporting is done in a timely manner to the duty manager.

 

Must have a clean driving record and the ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles. Preferred candidates will need to be knowledgeable about the local area. Needs to have a good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal. Preferred candidates will need to be people oriented and have a professional demeanor. Will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
