Essential Duties

1. Directs, monitors, and assesses needs and directs the application of resources of an administrative University office dealing with one or more major functional areas. 2. Directs and implements solutions to problems that are routine to complex in nature and that affect multiple functional areas of responsibility. 3. Plans and/or participates in planning University activities on a long-term basis to comply with University goals and objectives. 4. Establishes and implements consistent university-wide policies in multiple functional areas of responsibility. 5. Ensures that University office policies and procedures are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and ordinances. 6. Develops and monitors goals and objectives for managerial and professional staff in compliance with University strategies. 7. Directs a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in related field and eight years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Position Focus:

The Associate Director of Restorative Practices will support Yale University's efforts to develop and implement restorative practices in campus programs and activities. Reporting to the Director of Restorative Practices, the Associate Director will lead trainings and facilitate processes to cultivate community and respond restoratively to a broad range of campus conflict and harm, including informal reports of discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct. The Associate Director will assist schools, departments, programs and individual units in adapting restorative practice (RP) frameworks to the unique needs of their respective communities. The Associate Director will provide training, coaching and consultation in the principles and applications of restorative practices, in order to build community, to engage in constructive dialogue across differences, to resolve conflict, to repair primary, secondary and community harm, and to promote meaningful accountability. In collaboration with the Restorative Practices team, the Associate Director will train students, faculty and staff in peer-to-peer led restorative practices, including community building circles and shuttle dialogues. The Associate Director will work with the RP team to formulate online resources for students, faculty and staff seeking strategies, tools and practices in these areas. The Associate Director will facilitate the restorative resolution of cases of conflict and harm. Utilizing a trauma-informed lens and a commitment to promoting individual and community healing, the Associate Director will meet with participants, conduct restorative intakes, assess readiness, support participants in the restorative resolution process and when needed, draft resolution agreements. The Associate Director will assist in qualitative and quantitative program assessment and undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Restorative Practices. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

Master's Degree or equivalent, with concentration in restorative practices or a related field. Certification in restorative practices, mediation or adjacent competencies.
